On October 17th, the School of Political Science and Public Administration successfully held the 5th Qilu Youth Forum Sub-Forum for Political Science and Public Administration. Scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Washington and other four universities and institutions attended the sub-forum, which was chaired by Gai Yuqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee in the school. Dean Daniel A. Bell, Prof. Cao Xianqiang, Vice President of Shandong University (Qingdao) and Executive Vice Dean of the school, and Vice Dean Ma Ben were present at the sub-forum.

Dean Daniel A. Bell introduced the current situation of the school in his welcoming remarks. Prof. Cao Xianqiang reviewed the development of Qingdao campus and the relocation of the School of Political Science and Public Administration, saying that the school has always thirsted for talents and will provide abundant resources and opportunities for young talents at home and abroad. Vice Dean Kong Xinfeng explained the college’s personnel policy and related work in detail.

Attendees introduced their educational background, work experience, research interest, latest research results and career development plan, and had an in-depth exchange of views on issues of widespread concern among scholars such as research methods, research hot spots, and interdisciplinary subjects.

The successful hosting of the sub-forum is helpful in building a platform for national and international exchanges and cooperation among young scholars, enhancing their understanding of Shandong University, and further increasing the college’s appeal to talents.
