Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education released the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites in 2020. Three majors of the School of Political Science and Public Administration have been evaluated as national first-class major construction sites and one major has been approved as the provincial first-class major construction site, in the top-ranking of Shandong University.

The majors that were selected as national first-class major construction sites are political science and administration, scientific socialism, and public administration. And international politics is evaluated as the provincial first-class major construction site. Up to now, all the four undergraduate majors in the college have been evaluated as first-class majors, which is significant progress made by the college over the years in adhering to high-quality development and modernization of its majors.

Over the years, the School of Political Science and Public Administration has been following the mission of Shandong University that “Reserve talents for the world, and seek prosperity for the nation”, keeping values of “Public, pragmatic, innovative and service spirit”, and sticking to the motto of “Know about politics and serve the public, cultivate virtues and act sincerely.” Situated in the hometown of Confucianism, the school has cultivated a large quantity of political talents with ability, integrity and a sense of patriotism. Taking advantage of national first-class undergraduate programs construction, the school will strive to promote the building of first-class majors, to improve the ability to cultivate high-quality talents, and to make further progress on the establishment of a high-level talents education system.
