The Asia-Pacific Study Institute (APSI) of Shandong University was founded in May 1994, and it consists of:

v East Asia Political Security Research Center

v China Peripheral and Great Power Relations Research Center

v East Asia Social Culture Research Center

v Asia-Pacific Economy Trade Research Center and

v Asia-Pacific National Law Research Center.

Brief Introduction of Asia-Pacific Study Institute

The Institute has hosted multilateral international conferences in China, Japan, and South Korea for 15 times and is one of the academic institutions first brought into “One Belt One Road” think tanks league sponsored by the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC.

Asia-Pacific Study Institute provide advice for policymakers; pursue theoretical innovation, and serve society by guiding public opinions. Recently, the institute has undertaken lots of national and provincial research projects, presented many political research reports, among which the administration adopted numerous. In the future, Asia-Pacific Study Institute, headed by the director, Prof. Luhui Yang, will continue to strengthen high-end academic orientation, expand channels for achievement transformation, and to promote the communication power comprehensively, credibility and influence. Focusing on academic research and policy significance, the institute emphasises a combination of theory and practice, innovation and tradition to forge a new type of Asia-Pacific research think tank with characteristics, openness and preponderance.

The institute hopes to cooperate more closely with other research institutions and experts both at home and abroad.
