Profile

Ziqiang HAN is a professor at the School of Political Science and Public Administration, Shandong University, China. He is also a joint researcher at the Center for Crisis Management Research, Tsinghua University, and the Center for Local Risk Governance, South China University of Technology. Before he joined the Shandong University in 2018, he worked as an associate professor at the Institute for Disaster Management and Reconstruction, Sichuan University-The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr. Han obtained his bachelor and master degrees from Beijing Normal University in China, and the Ph.D. degree from the Disaster Science and Management program at the Disaster Research Center in 2014.

Ziqiang’s recent research interests are disaster recovery and sustainable development, household and institutional emergency preparedness, comprehensive school safety and multi-organizational cooperation. He has published dozens of peer review journal papers and co-edited one book “Recovering from Catastrophic Disaster in Asia,” published by Emerald. He has also served as a guest editor of the Sustainability Journal’s special issue: Disasters, Crisis, Hazards, Emergencies and Sustainable Development.

Ziqiang is currently serving as board members of several disaster research associations in China, such as the associate director of the School Safety Research Committee in the Chinese Emergency Management Association.

Disaster and emergency management. Emergency preparedness, comprehensive school safety, disaster education, multi-organization cooperation, risk perception and decision making, disaster recovery and sustainable development.
