Profile
Ms. Huang Chunlei got her PhD in Economics in Xiamen University, 2005 and entered School of Political Science and Public Administration, Shandong University in the same year. Ms. Huang treats her teaching seriously and with a strong sense of responsibility. She tries her best to update curriculum contents, innovate teaching methods and stimulate students’ interests in learning. She also pays great attention to field study and always takes students to institutions such as tax authorities, public procurement center and community service center in order to improve their capability of combining theories with practice. Currently, Ms. Huang gives courses including Western Economics, Macroeconomics and Public Finance and Taxation to bachelor students and Topics of Public Finance and Macroeconomics to master students. What is more, she has participated in the instruction of Introduction to Public Administration since 2012, which is for the general education of the University.
Ms. Huang became a master supervisor in 2008 and has eleven master students till now, among which one went broad for PhD study and seven are still in the master study. Ms. Huang holds seminar based on her research programs every two weeks to guide her students how to do academic works including theoretical study, basic methods for social survey and field study, meanwhile asks them to do academic writing.
In addition to be a good professor, Ms. Huang works as an outstanding scholar. She has participated in several academic research team since 2005, where she achieves valuable combination of academic theories and social practice. For example, she joint in the academic research team on public economics and public policy led by Professor Fan Liming in 2005, which makes her start to pay attention to the private supply of public goods from a more comprehensive perspective of economics and public administration. Also, in 2006, she participated in the team led by Professor Cao Xianqiang, where, with the support from the Research Center of Urban Development and Public Policy of Shandong University, she took the reform of public utility of Jinan as a typical example and launched a series of studies on the marketization of public service of China theoretically and practically. In 2014, Ms. Huang participated in the establishment of the Research Center of Social Organization and Social Governance, Shandong University and started to focus more on government purchase of service and the development of social organization.
