Content:

Public administration and the roles of universities that offer degrees in public administration has evolved over time. Despite this evolution, we essentially remain true to our calling: ‘prepare the next generation of public servants’. However, the manner in which go about work and the role of learned societies and the faculty members that work within them has and should change over time. The purpose of this presentation was to put forth an argument that learned societies should issue a call for public administration programs to formally connect with the communities where they exist and find their place at the policymaking table.
