From July 16th to 17th, the 2020 National Excellent College Students Summer Camp of the School of Political Science and Public Administration was successfully held in an online and offline interactive mode. More than 60 outstanding college students from Jilin University, Xiamen University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Ocean University of China, China University of Petroleum (East China) and other well-known universities participated in this summer camp.

On the morning of the 16th, the opening ceremony of summer camp was held through using the Tencent conference online platform. Cao Xianqiang, Vice President and Executive Vice Dean of Shandong University (Qingdao), and Liu Changming, Vice Dean of Shandong University (Qingdao), attended the opening ceremony and made speeches. The teachers warmly welcomed students and introduced the history of the both the university and Qingdao campus, the numbers of teachers and students, the construction of disciplines, the strength of scientific research,and the grant system. They welcomed the students to join the school and make progress together with it.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Ma Ben introduced the history and development of the Emergency Management major, research direction, cultivation concept and scheme as well as other contents. Professor Kong Xinfeng gave a lecture entitled "Thinking Chinese Standard Politics from the Great Learning ".

On the 17th, the college organized professional interviews through ZOOM. Students were evaluated in terms of professional knowledge, English proficiency, and scientific research potential, which were considered important criteria for selecting excellent students.

This online summer camp further stimulated the interest of outstanding domestic college students to study at the School of Political Science and Public Administration, deepened their understanding of the talent training platform and academic research environment at the school, and played a positive role in the recruitment.
