From May 28th to 30th, the Fourth National Doctoral Forum on Scientific Socialism and International Communist Movement was held in Shandong University (Qingdao). The theme of this forum was " Innovative Development of the Chinese Communist Party in Scientific Socialism Theory and Practice in the Past Hundred Years”, and the forum was attended by nearly 100 doctoral students and experts from more than 20 research centers across the country.
Guo Bangli, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of Shandong University (Qingdao), Gai Yuqiang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Political Science and Public Adminstration (SPSPA), Zhang Guangming, Professor of the School of International Relations of Peking University, and Gao Jiwen, Professor of Marxism of Shandong Normal University, respectively delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. The forum was host by Professor Jiang Rui, Deputy Director of the Institute of Contemporary Socialism at Shandong University.
Around the theme, doctoral students discussed on five topic –"Marxist Theory of Scientific Socialism", "the Course of Sinicization of Marxism in the Past 100 Years", "the Historical Experience of the Construction of the Chinese Communist Party in the past 100 years", "Innovative Development of the Theory and Practice of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" and "World Socialism in the Great Change". At the end of the forum, a paper award ceremony was held. The participating experts formed an award group and 6 first prizes, 12 second prizes and 21 third prizes were awarded from the selected papers.
The forum, launched by the Institute of Contemporary Socialism under Shandong University in 2017, aims to build an academic communication platform for doctoral students and continuously promote discipline development and improve the quality of personnel training.
