From July 14^th to 17^th in 2021, the national training course for teachers in History of Western Political Thought and the 11^th advanced seminar on the History of Western Political Thought in summer were successfully held in Qingdao Workers Hot Springs Sanatorium.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Kong Xinfeng, Vice Dean of the School of political Science and Public Administration (SPSPA) of Shandong University. Professor Cao Xianqiang, Vice President of Shandong University (Qingdao) and Executive Vice Dean of the SPSPA, Professor Tong Dezhi, Dean of College of Politics and Administration of Tianjin Normal University, Professor Cong Riyun, Chairman of Academic Committee of the School of Politics and Public Administration of China University of Political Science and Law, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Professor Cao Xianqiang, Vice President of Shandong University (Qingdao), congratulated the attendees on the holding of this training course, welcomed all professors and researchers, and thanked the academic colleagues who have long cared about and supported the development of political science in Shandong University.

This four-day teacher training course and advanced seminar in summer, with the theme of "Political Thought: Tradition and Change", invited more than 20 well-known domestic experts and young scholars in the field of the history of Western Political Thought to give lectures and discussions, around specific topics such as "New Trends of American Conservatism in the Post-Trump era", "Eric Voegelin's study of the History of Political Thought" and "Quentin Skinner's study of the History of Political Thought",

Through the effort of our colleagues for more than ten years, this training course has become a professional high-end research brand in the field of the History of Western Political Thought in Chinese political academe. The successful holding of this course has promoted the academic community construction and discipline development, which would make greater contributions to Chinese political academe.
