On Jul.28, 2018, Public Policy Summer Camp was hosted by the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, The Education University of Hong Kong. Professor Ma Ben, Associate Dean of School of Political Science and Public Administration, Dong Xuemei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Yu Ling, Counselor and 12 Undergraduate and Postgraduate students participated in the camp.

Students majoring in Public Administration from seven universities in China, including Shandong University, Ocean University of China and Chongqing University participated in the summer camp. During camp, attended academic lectures about cutting-edge research achievements in the field of public policy, participated in workshops focused on improving research abilities, and engaged in outdoor activities that include experience life in Hong Kong and interaction with students in Hong Kong to increase mutual understanding.

On the opening day of the summer camp, a ceremony of signing Strategic Cooperation Agreement was held between School of Political Science and Public Administration (SPS&PA) and the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, the Education University of Hong Kong. Ma Ben, Associate Dean of SPS&PA, represented on behalf of the school. In recent years, the school has been actively exploring, developing and engaging in academic exchanges and joint collaboration. Such cooperative projects are attracting more and more undergraduates and postgraduates participation in overseas exchange programs. The Education University of Hong Kong is one of the eight public universities in Hong Kong and the only university in Hong-Kong based on teacher education. It has a history of more than 160 years. In 2018, the education discipline of the Education University of Hong Kong ranked 9th in the world in the international QS world rankings, and the second in Asia, and it is a reputed institution in the fields of public policy, social policy and public administration.

The signing of this agreement is the beginning of close cooperation. In the future, students in the School of Political Science and Public Administration will have more opportunities to exchange learning in Hong Kong, broaden their academic horizons and enhance their research abilities.
