Institute of Chinese Political Thought and Political Culture of Shandong University established in October 2013. The institute is affiliated to the School of Political Science and Public Administration (SPSPA), Shandong University.

Objectives:
The Institute of Chinese Political Thought and Political Culture was established:
(i) To find different measures to alleviate and eliminate negative factors in Chinese political culture, while exploring rational features in Chinese traditional political thought and political culture.
(ii) To identify Chinese cultural foundations in political thought and culture that imitate the path of socialist political development with Chinese characteristics,
(iii) To organise Chinese cultural traditions that are suitable to guide the political development of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Goals:
This institute sets the research goal of providing a compact hypothesis on Chinese political thought and political culture. With the help of all available resources within the Campus and outside, it aims to serve the school teaching and scientific research work, in general, the institute offers decision-making references for specific reform practice.
The Institute of Chinese political thought and political culture also aims at conducting an academic discussion on important issues related to Chinese political thought and political culture from the perspective of political science. We in the institute has a strong desire to provide decision-making advice and theoretical guidance to the CPC central committee and local governments at all levels. At the same time, the faculty of the Institute strive to create this institute as an effective organisation and communication platform for relevant researchers and establish an active and fruitful academic research team for Shandong University.
