ACTIVITY | Representatives of teachers and students from school of Political Science and Pubic Administration participated in the 2019 ASPA's (American Society for Public Administration) Annual Conference

Dr. Liu Huaxing and Dr. Huang Qing, assistant professors of the School of Political Science and Pubic Administration, and Ph.D. candidate Mao Qingduo went to Washington, DC to attend the ASPA’s (American Society for Public Administration) 2019 Annual Conference from March 7th to 13th. Dr. Huang and Dr. Liu gave a speech entitled “How Much Do Young Local Civil Servants Trust Citizens in China” Mr. Mao gave a speech entitled “Systematic Effect of ‘Race to Clean”. During the conference, they had in-depth conversations with professors from Rutgers University and Virginia Tech, and participated in the activities organized by the Section on Chinese Public Administration (SCPA) and the China-America Association for Public Affairs (CAAPA).

ASPA has more than 7,000 members, and the number of participants in the annual conferences is around 1,000. This year, there are dozens of representatives from well-known universities attending the conference. The number of Chinese scholars from domestic and foreign universities is nearly 200, accounting for one-fifth of the total number. The group of Chinese scholars takes the largest portion except that of American scholars in ASPA and they have also become the main driving force for the internationalization of public administration.
