Content:

The Modi-led Indian government has introduced ‘Act East Policy,’ which has attracted attention from the India observers in and out of India. The new policy is on the continuum but different from the ‘Look East Policy’ of the previous government. This transformation of India’s foreign policy from both economic and security perspectives stems from domestic and international changes in recent years. Questions such as What is the Indian Act East Policy’s strategic approach toward Northeast Asia’s China, Japan, and South Korea? How do these three countries interact with India? are debated in the lecture.
