Since February this year, teachers of School of Political Science and Public Administration(SPSPA) have published a number of papers in SSCI Q1.

The paper “Association between disaster experience and quality of life: the mediating role of disaster risk perception” was published in Quality of Life Research by Professor Han Ziqiang as corresponding author of SPSPA. This article mainly analyzes the impact of disaster experience on people ’s quality of life, focusing on the mediating effect of risk perception. The paper "The Framing of Nuclear Energy in Chinese Media Discourse: A Comparison between National and Local Newspapers" was published in the Journal of Cleaner Production. This article mainly compares the differences between central and local media in the construction of nuclear energy risks and benefits. Although the both overall maintained a consistent trend, the local media's construction of the revenue dimension was significantly less. In addition, two articles on school bullying were also published in the journals of Q1. Those respectively are "Ethnic differences in experiences of school bullying in China" in Children and Youth Services Review and "Weight status and school bullying experiences in urban China: the difference between boys and girls" in Journal of interpersonal violence. Generally speaking, ethnic factors are not a risk factor for school bullying experiences in China and there are differences in “weight” in bullying experiences between genders. The above two articles were respectively written by student as first author.

The paper "Influence measurement of rapid urbanization on agricultural production factors based on provincial panel data" was published in the journal Socio-Economic Planning Sciences written by assistant professor Li Jintao of the Institute of Governance as the first author. The main points of this article are as follows: Urbanization promotes agricultural production technology and capital development, improves agricultural production efficiency and increases farmers' income but at the same time it brings serious problems such as labor aging and soil environmental pollution to agricultural production. Using Cobb Douglas production function and gravity model to comprehensively measure the impact of urbanization on agricultural production factors, the results show that economic urbanization has a positive effect on capital factors, while population urbanization has a negative effect on labor factors; regional differences in urbanization affects the spatial differentiation of the elasticity coefficient of labor force, capital and technology of agricultural production: the elasticity coefficient of land and labor force in the eastern region is higher and the elasticity coefficient of capital in the central region is higher. Finally, the study proposes to ensure sustainable agricultural development by increasing agricultural transfer payments, building a stable market environment and optimizing the industrial structure.

The paper “Is there a new international trade order?” was published in the Chinese Journal of International Politics by Zhao Yujia of SPSPA as the independent author. The main argument of the article is that despite the challenges of stagnation in the Doha Round negotiations, slowing trade growth, and competition in free trade agreements, the world trade order has not undergone fundamental changes from 1996 to 2016 and order stability is high. After 2017, the stability of the current trade order has weakened but the openness of international trade has not changed overall because of the high dependence of major trading nations on trade; the type of international trade order within 10 years will not change in virture of the current decentralization of the power to formulate international trade rules.
