From March 21st to 23rd, the international symposium on the Change of the World Pattern and the Construction of a Community with Shared Future in East Asia was held at Shandong University (Qingdao), in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the friendly exchange between Shandong University and Yamaguchi University. The symposium was hosted by Shandong University, undertaken by the School of Political Science and Public Administration (SPSPA) and the Asia-Pacific Study Institute. Han Shenghao, Vice President of Shandong University and President of the Qingdao Campus, Masaaki Oka, President of Yamaguchi University, and Wang Liyong, Deputy Director of the China Center for Contemporary World Studies of the International Department, Central Committee of CPC, delivered speeches respectively. Cao Xianqiang, Vice President of Shandong University (Qingdao) and Executive Vice President of SPSPA, presided over the opening section.
Yang Luhui, Director of the Asia-Pacific Study Institute of Shandong University, presided over the keynote report section in the morning. A number of well-known scholars delivered keynote speeches on the theme of the Change of the World Pattern and the Construction of a Community with Shared Future in East Asia. In the afternoon, the symposium was divided into three panels for academic discussions. The closing ceremony was presided over by Kong Xinfeng, Deputy Dean of SPSPA, and another deputy dean, Li Jishi made a summary report.
More than 80 experts and scholars from over 20 universities and research institutes attended the symposium, such as Yamaguchi University, the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Diplomatic Academy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Modern International Relations Institute, Fudan University, Tongji University, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Jilin University, Changwon National University, Korea University, National University of Singapore, Ocean University of China, and Qingdao University.
